the personal and the urban implications of forgotten and abandoned space manifest in 'that night they went out painting'.

constructing an industrial-scape within the gallery—replete with scaffolding, rendered concrete, and graffiti courtesy of friends of the artist—van der ryken probes experiences of safety and promiscuity, dens and beats.
