desperate; moonlight (2014) is a large scale object work. a triangular section of roofing was reconstructed in a corner of the gallery. the roof section is made of partially rusting corrugated iron sheets and dressed with aged iron ridge capping and an iron gutter. the use of second hand construction materials for this work allows it a sense of authenticity, leaving the viewer to believe it’s been lifted from an existing house in one piece. the surface of the roof is carpeted with Bougainvillea flowers of an assortment of pink and purple colours in varied stages of decomposition.
