single-channel video (20 minutes) outer space, brisbane, april 2023
the garden of forking paths is a long-term project borne of research into public sites historically used as cruising grounds and their overlap with the leisure zones and constructed nature reserves of the city. the first outcome of this project is a single-channel video work designed for projection on the judith wright belltower façade overlooking brunswick street in fortitude valley. the work uses google earth imagery of the toohey forest reserve to present a slow, cinematic descent from satellite into the abstracted depths of a digitally rendered treetop under cover of virtual night.
